Summer Sewer Rates

Residents of Shipshewana it is getting close to that time of year again where we start watering our lawns and gardens.  For anyone who has  been on Town Utilities for a while you know that it can get expensive if you are not on Summer Sewer Rates.  This is a program offered by the Town that gives you a break on the sewer portion of your bill.  You only need to sign up once and you will receive summer sewer rates each year going forward.  The average usage for the months of December, January, and February is used to calculate the sewer portion of the bill instead of charging the actual usage for June through August so that you are not paying sewer charges for the water that you are using on your lawn or garden.  In order to qualify you must have been living in your current home since the beginning of December of 2015.  If you are interested in signing up for summer sewer rates please come into Town Hall or give us a call at 260-768-4743.
